2011 Men's League
League begins Tuesday May 3rd and
Thursday May 5th
Welcome to the
2011 Season at Newton Commonwealth Golf Course!
Dear Men’s
League Participant:
We plan on
starting the competitions on the first night of league play for 2011.
Those who have never had a handicap will still be included but we will
need to know your average scores from 2010 rounds played. From this
we will take an approximate handicap which will change each week until
you have established your actual handicap. In order to create a
handicap you will need at least five 18 hole scores. We will create
two separate divisions which will be those who would like to play for
money and those who would just like some friendly competition.
All prizes will
be given out in the form of a Sterling Golf Gift Card which can be
used at Newton Commonwealth or any of our other managed golf courses.
The gift cards can be used for green fees, cart fees, lessons and food
and beverage.
If you are
interested in our men’s league, you may sign up by filling out our
application, which can all be found on
www.sterlinggolf.com. Please forward a check for a total of $350
for your league payment and inner club dues and send it to Newton
Commonwealth GC, ATTN Albie Bargoot, 212 Kenrick Street, Newton, MA

to pay by credit card. If you pay online please make note of
what day and time you wish to play. Please note that the
$350 does include your inner club fee so you do not need to pay an
additional $60.
Rain checks will
be issued according to the weather. If the weather is terrible all
day the league will be canceled by 3:00 p.m. the day of play. If
there is a chance of rain or thunder, then the decision will be
made by the first tee time. If there is rain earlier in the day and
it stops prior to the league we will not cancel the league. Rain
checks are not given if you choose not to show up for your league
time. You may give your spot to someone else if you know that you will
be unable to play. All rain checks will be added to your account in
the form of credits to be used for golf or merchandise.
Credits issued
for 2011 men’s league must be used by December 1st, 2011.
These credits can NOT be used for gift cards or 2012 men’s league
payments or any other items. By signing up for the 2011 men’s league
you acknowledge SGM’s rain check and league credit policy.
A tee time will
be assigned to you/your group for the entire season. Applications
will be processed on a first come, first served basis, based on a
postmark. Deadline for sign up and changes is March 15 th.
